About Chloe
Chloe was one of the puppies that we kept from our first homebred litter, born on St. Patrick's Day, 2005. She started showing in the Fall of 2005 to get some experience in the ring as a puppy. In one of her first shows, the Morris & Essex dog show, with an entry of 40 bedlingtons, she received the Reserve Winners Bitch award (to a 5-point major) at just 7months old!
Unfortunately, Chloe's conformation career never reached its full potential. In January 2006, a flesh-eating bacterial abcess formed in her abdomen and while emergency surgery was able to save her life, it altered the development of her rear and the steriods she was put on stunted her growth. As a result, she didn't come back to the show ring until fall of 2006. Thankfully, several good judges were able to see all of the rest of her attributes and she promptly went on to take Winners Bitch at the Hatboro Kennel Club, in October 2006, for a 3-point major! She finished her Championship in June of 2007, taking Best of Winners for her final point.
Chloe is happily retired from the show ring and is our resident mouse hunter. While she could never be specialed after her injury, she instead went on to become one of the top producing brood bitches at LAMZ. So far, Chloe has produced a BTCA National Specialty Best of Breed Winner, two BTCA National Specialty Winners Dogs and a Reserve Winners Dog, two Terrier Group Winning specials, five Terrier Group Placing specials, two Best in Specialty Show winners, a Westminster Kennel Club Best of Breed winner, a WKC Award of Merit winner and two WKC Best of Opposite Sex winners, two dogs who have been awarded the 1st Award of Merit at the National Specialty, a multiple National Specialty-Weekend Best of Breed Winner, nine AKC Champions, four AKC Grand Champions, several puppies who have finished with 5 majors apiece and several top-ranked bedlington terrier specials. Chloe is a BTCA All-Time Top Producing Brood Bitch award winner and is behind many of the top-winning Bedlingtons being shown today.
