About Gypsy
Gypsy was our first Bedlington Terrier and is the foundation bitch of the LAMZ Bedlington Terrier line. She went on to become a BTCA All-Time Top Producing Dam and is behind every Bedlington Terrier that we have produced over the years.
We had never shown a dog in the breed ring before we purchased Gypsy, but Gaby had been competing in Junior Showmanship with our American Cocker Spaniel before we made the decision to search for a show quality dog to add to the family.
Gypsy finished her AKC Championship on July 29, 2004. She was retired shortly thereafter to compete in performance events and to be bred while we focused our show ring efforts on campaigning Vegas. Since her retirement from the breed ring, Gypsy received her Junior Earthdog, Senior Earthdog, Canine Good Citizen, Rally Novice and Rally Advanced titles.
Gypsy was the dam to the first LAMZ litter, delivering six healthy puppies on Saint Patrick's Day, 2005. Three of those puppies (Rocky, Chloe and Rio) finished their AKC Championships and have become integral parts of the LAMZ Breeding program. Gypsy's second litter was born in April 2006 and she, again, had 6 lovely puppies - 3 of which finished their championships (Wylie, Ellie and CJ). Her third litter was born in 2008, producing two more champions (Roadie and Molli). Roadie has gone on to a highly successful specials career with his Junior Handler, Morgan Miller. Her fourth and final litter was born in November of 2009, resulting in two lovely girls, one of which (Elphie) was kept here at LAMZ. Both of the girls from this final litter finished their championships before they were 11 months old.
Gypsy won the brood bitch class at Montgomery in 2007 with two of her get, Rio and Wylie and in 2010 & 2011 she won the Veteran Bitch class at the BTCA National Specialty. She is one of the BTCA's All-Time Top Producing Brood Bitches with 10 champion get, and she received the 2007 and 2010 BTCA Annual Top Producing Brood Bitch award. We extend our deepest grattitude to her breeder, Linda Freeman of Chelsea Blue Bedlingtons, for allowing us to bring such an incredible family member and foundation bitch into our lives.
