About Rocky
Rocky and his sire, Vegas, playing in the snow
Rocky was one of the puppies from our first homebred litter, born on St. Patrick's Day 2005. He lives in southwestern Virginia with Ryan Gilbeau.
Rocky started showing in the Fall of 2005, to get some experience in the ring as a puppy, and was brought out in 2006 to finish his AKC Championship. At his first show in 2006, he was awarded Winners Dog/Best of Winners for his first point. He showed throughout the spring and early summer and the first weekend in August he was awarded both of his majors, and with them - his Champion title. Rocky is the first Bred-By champion prouduced by the LAMZ kennel. He was invited to, and attended the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship in December 2006 and showed very well for a young dog, but was retired from the conformation ring soon after as we were focused on the specials campaign of his sire, Vegas.
Rocky sired one litter in 2006, resulting in 3 blue male puppies. One of those puppies, Ch LAMZ Hollywood Scandal "Woody," was shown and finished his championship in just 5 weekends of showing. Another male from that litter, LAMZ Rumor Has It "Rumor," was returned to us (due to his prior owner's failing health) as a veteran and finished his Championship at 9 years old.
Rocky has competed in earthdog trials on numerous occasions and has passed the Intro to Quarry test many times. He earned his Junior Earthdog title in just a handful of tests, although they were spread out over a 7-year span!
At 10.5 years old, Rocky is retired from competition and stays home most weekends to enjoy the human company of his owner, Ryan.
