About Piper
Piper is co-owned with Linda Scalise and Michael Berry of Spellbind Bedlingtons, located in California. He is sired by Wylie (Ch LAMZ Wylie Duke of Windsor) and Linda and Michael generously offered to let us co-own Piper and show him during the spring and summer of 2008. Piper has a phenomenal head and ears, thick coat with plenty of color and texture and a fabulous temperament.
Piper's first weekend in the show ring was the 2008 BTCA National Specialty weeekend in Louisville, Kentucky. He won his class every day and on Friday (the day before the National), Piper went Winners Dog for a 5-point major from the 6-9 month puppy class. He followed up that win with a 4-point major a few weekends later and a Terrier Puppy Group 2 at the Columbia Terrier show. Piper finished his championship easily by 10 months of age.
Piper is now living with Linda and Mike again and is retired from the show ring. Piper had a short but decorated specials career, going Best of Breed over #1-ranked Bedlington Terrier specials, winning an Award of Merit at the 2009 BTCA National Specialty and placing in multiple terrier groups throughout the south eastern region of the United States.
Piper sired our November 2009 "Wicked litter" out of BTCA All-Time Top Producing Brood Bitch Ch Chelsea's Blue Gypsy Dancer RA SE CGC which resulted in two puppies (Ch LAMZ Wickedly Popular and GCh LAMZ Wickedly Defying Gravity), both of which finished their championships before 11 months of age with multiple puppy and bred-by group placements. We returned to Piper in 2012 for our "Pirate Litter" out of Molli (Ch LAMZ Hokie Pokey), resulting in a litter of 3 males and 1 female. One puppy from that litter, GCh LAMZ Pirate's Delight, finsihed her AKC Championship and is a terrier group placer and Multi BTCA Supported Entry Best of Breed winner.
