About Zoolander
Zoolander is one of the newest additions to the LAMZ family and lives in Ohio with Gaby. He is a clown of a dog, with a big personality and tremendous promise. He is from our November 2017 litter between Vogue and Hoodie, and is everything we were hoping for with that cross - a beautifully proportioned, sound, typey dog that is a joy to live with.
Zoo made his debut in the show ring at 3 months, where he earned a Terrier Puppy Group 1 at his first AKC-Sanctioned B-Match. He quickly followed that up with a 4-6mos Beginner Puppy Terrier Group 1 in March 2018. In April 2018, Zoo earned back-to-back 4-6mos Beginner Puppy Terrier Group 1's and a 4-6most Beginner Puppy Best in Show!
Zoo started his "real" show career with a bang, going Best in Sweepstakes at the 2018 BTCA Eastern National Specialty. He followed that up with a 3-point major by going Winners Dog at another show over the Eastern National Specialty weekend. Being selectively shown, he was held out for the 2018 BTCA Grand National Specialty, where he was awarded Winners Dog for a 5-point major, and received a second 5-point major by going Winners Dog/Best of Winners at one of the Supported Entries over the Grand National Specialty Weekend. Zoo's breakout success brought him to 13 points with 3 majors after his first two weekends of showing with competition.
Zoo was brought out again in early October 2018 for the Montgomery County Kennel Club weekend (BTCA Supported Entry), where he was Winners Dog/Best of Winners at Montgomery for his third 5-point major to finish his AKC Championship!
Zoolander's specials career got off to a great start, when he won Best of Breed at the 2018 National Dog Show (televised on Thanksgiving Day). His next outing was to the week-long series of shows in Orlando, Florida, held in conjunction with the 2018 AKC National Championship. He was Best of Opposite Sex on Friday at the BTCA Southern National Specialty, and then Best of Breed in the AKC National All-Breed Puppy & Junior Stakes, going on to take the Terrier Group 1 under the Terrier man himself, Mr. Peter Green! Not done there, Zoolander was Best of Breed on Sunday at the 2018 AKC National Championship, finishing his Grand Championship in two weekends with five 5-point major wins.
Zoolander has had a decorated specials career, earning Best of Breed at the 2019 BTCA Eastern National Specialty & 2019 BTCA Grand National Specialty. He was also Best of Breed at the 2018 & 2019 AKC National Championship. He is a multiple Terrier Group winner, and earned his first Reserve Best in Show in 2020, just shy of his third birthday. He has ended both 2019 and 2020 as the #1 Bedlington Terrier in the United States.

Zoolander's dam, Vogue (Reserve Best In Show & Multi Group Winning GCHG LAMZ Strike A Pose RN CAA RATI CGCA TKN), hardly needs an introduction. She had an incredibly decorated show career, winning 10 Terrier Group 1's, a Reserve Best in Show to the top winning male show dog of all time (the great Matisse, the Portuguese Water Dog), and she was Best of Breed at Montgomery, Westminster and the AKC National Championship. Vogue has been a superstar versatile performance dog, earning titles in Rally-O, Coursing Ability Testing, Barn Hunt, the Canine Good Citizen program and AKC's Trick Dog program. She has nearly earned her BCAT title in the AKC's Fast CAT program. Outside of the show ring, she is the most stable, wonderful companion with a temperament and heart of gold. Zoolander was born in Vogue's first litter.
Zoo's sire, Hoodie (2x BTCA National Specialty Winners Dog Ch LAMZ Snowbrook Men in Tights), had a short but illustrious show career, going Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best in Sweepstakes at the 2015 BTCA National Specialty, and following it up by going Winners Dog and Award of Merit at the 2016 BTCA National Specialty. He is the sire of our 2016 litter out of Rigby (NBISS GCHS LAMZ Eleanor Rigby CAA RATI RATN CGC), which produced Multi Group Placing GCh LAMZ A Dance with Dragons, Multi Group Placing GCh LAMZ A Song of Ice & Fire at Silverwood, and Ch LAMZ A Clash of Kings. We liked what Hoodie produced so well in that litter, that we returned to him in 2017 with Vogue to produce Zoo's litter.
