About Hawking
Hawking, or Hawk as he is affectionately known, was one of our five "Time Traveler" puppies born in May 2021. This incredibly special litter was produced using stored frozen semen from our foundation dog, Vegas, who passed away in 2019 at the wonderfully old age of 16.5 years old. Their dam, Katinka, was the perfect compliment to Vegas, and we could not be more pleased with the puppies they produced.
Hawking finished his Championship easily, earning a 5- and 4-Point major during the 2021 AKC National Championship weekend. He was Best of Breed at the 2021 AKC Puppy & Junior Sweepstakes, and made the cut in the Terrier Group. He was then held out for the 2022 BTCA Eastern National Specialty, where he was Winners Dog for another 5-point major. He finished his Championship during the 2022 BTCA National Specialty weekend in Greeley, Colorado. From there, he was slowly brought out as a special on a limited basis, going Best of Opposite Sex at the 2022 BTCA Southern National Specialty and Best of Opposite Sex & Best Bred-By in Breed (making the cut in the group) at the 2022 AKC National Championship.
2023 was Hawking's first year as a full-time special, albeit still shown on a limited basis. Despite his limited campaign, he was Select Dog at the 2023 BTCA National Specialty, Best of Breed at the 2023 Kennel Club of Philadelphia show (during the BTCA Eastern National Specialty weekend), Best of Opposite at the 2023 BTCA Eastern National Specialty, and Best of Opposite Sex & Best Bred-By in Breed (making the cut in the group) at the 2023 AKC National Championship. He also became a multiple group placing special, and ended the year as the #1 Bedlington Terrier Dog (breed) for 2023!
